ETTDR Blog 16/2008 – Rima falls down, breaks leg ….. or does she?

I was shocked to read on both In the Diary Room and Oh Brother that HM Rima was in hospital after an incident in game 1 of FNL. I said at the time on ETTDR Blog 15/2008:

Game one is like a ride at Luna Park. They have to stay on a wall that rises into the air with the aim (of BB) to raise the floor to a vertical wall. Saxon is the last man standing. Time for the chicks to have a go. Alice wins for the chicks. There was a bit of upskirt action (even with the blokes) but they were wearing pants. Bree wants to have a go.

As the winners of game 1, Alice and Saxon are now captains. Very boring TV watching people pick players for their teams. Rima hurt her toe on the slide (according to Mike) and wasn’t picked. Ad break including preview of Sunday.

I haven’t had a broken leg but I’ve had 2 dislocated knees (the name knee), once with a hairline fracture.

Based on what I saw when watching it live (well, on my tape when I watched it back), I didn’t think that it was too bad initially. She was able to get up. Someone asked her how she was and she said OK. While I haven’t had a broken leg, I’ve had enough injuries and seen enough injuries on the football field to know that if you break your leg, you’ll be in a hell of a lot of pain and most likely not able to get up from where you fell. She definitely was not moved from the point of impact by something like a stretcher or medicab. This may have indeed have happened away from the point of impact off camera but that seems very strange for BB.

I would have thought that if she was injured badly to the extent of breaking her leg, there would have been a few replays of the incident and some medical attention at the point of impact. And BB could have got the Ninjas to film it if it was that bad. After all, how many times on TV in things like football matches do you see this happen?

Also, I noticed that Mike later said that “she hurt her toe”. There’s a BIG difference between hurting a toe and breaking a leg. I know a leg is connected to a foot which are connected to toes but……

I hope I’m wrong but I’m calling shenanigans!

Having said that, I would not wish a broken leg on anyone. But why would BB want Rima out? Was she not performing to BB’s liking? Is he disappointed that people like her and aren’t outraged? Did Rima herself want out? Besides, there have been other (albeit more minor) injuries in the house over the years and you’ve seen what happened for the treatment. Maybe this will happen on the Sunday show where we’ll get to see it in more detail and I’ll hopefully be proved wrong. But based on my previous experience and her reaction, I’m cynical.

  1. You’re neglecting the fact that they want to minimise the incident, because these people are not sports stars that are paid to get bloody.

I’m sure she hurt her toe as well, but I think there’s a better chance of her fracturing her leg and limping away on it, than there is that they’re making it up.

Unfortunately this should be grounds for disqualification – not a 6-week excemption from evictions for the annoying little wench.

It’s he own fault for obviously understating her propensity to break bones. She’s lighter than everyone else, so with similar tensile strength in her bones, she shouldn’t be as prone to breaking them as others are.

There’s no way she should have signed off on competing in the games. Nobody in BB central knows her medical state better than she does.

  2. probably because everyone found out about rima’s nude online pics..
